Races!!
- Human [x]
- Half-Elf [x]
- Half-Orc [x]
- Dwarf (The Dwarf is a typical representative of the fantasy worlds: Tough, snappy, grumbling and eager to fight.
He excels at close combat and he is very apt with axes as well as war hammers.
Furthermore, dwarves boast a secret technical knowledge. Therefore, he is able to wield weapons that none of the other characters are able to handle. He is able to equip a musket for medium-range fights and one of his “special moves” is firing a canon, which is strapped to his back.
The musket and the canon will feature extensive upgrade opportunities as a weapon and armor respectively.
The Dwarf can be played as a close combat or ranged fighter.) [x] [x] - Duergar (Personality
Grim and determined, the duergar (or gray dwarves) lead lives of neverending toil in the great foundry-cities they have built in the Underdark. The gray dwarves are nearly as widespread and numerous as the drow, and the typical duergar realm is every bit as strong, cruel, and wealthy as a great city of the dark elves. But while most drow cities exist to exalt the high nobility of the dark elves, duergar cities exist only for the manufacture of wealth through unending labor.
Duergar are sullen, insular and industrious, but they tend to be better neighbors than drow and are less likely to raid surface lands or seek out victims to torment. They are the preeminent artisans and merchants of the Underdark, and duergar caravans cross every corner of Faerun miles beneath the surface. The gray dwarves are all too willing to enslave any likely creatures that fall into their hands, but they don't waste slaves in the sort of cruel spectacles that the drow enjoy. Instead, the duergar simply work their captives to death.
Though gray dwarves do display the redeeming virtues of courage and determination, they are also avaricious, short-trmpered, sullen, violent, and ungrateful. Duergar nurse grudges until they die and never stop counting the slights (real or imagined) that they've received. They are inclined to believe that might makes right, so most have no pity for those who are too weak to defend their property or themselves against a stronger foe. Duergar are not above launching fearsome raids to garner the gold they love so well from their weaker neighbors.
On the positive side, duergar believe in minding their own business (so long as others don't have anything they want) and working hard to excel at their chosen crafts. No obstacle daunts a gray dwarf who has settled on a goal. Duergar may not display much loyalty to anyone other than themselves, but they never leave a job half done.
Physical Description
The typical gray dwarf stands about 4 to 4 1/2 feet tall, but their physique is lean and hard compared to those of their shield dwarf kin. Their skin is a dull, lifeless gray color, and their eyes are black and cold. A male duergar doesn't have a wisp of hair above his ears, but he may boast a short, wiry beard of iron-gray or black hair. The typical female duergar is likewise bald, but a few have short-cropped hair of dull black.
Relations
Duergar are universally disliked by all other beings, including each other. They are churlish and hateful, and they want nothing to do with other races unless they stand to gain something from the encounter. Of the other Underdark races, duergar find the svirfneblin and the orogs the least irritating, since the deep gnomes and deep orcs are also outstanding artissans who value hard work. The gray dwarves can't stand the drow, probably because they can sense the condescension and mockery behind dark elf courtesy. Duergar absolutely loathe other dwarves (particularly shield dwarves) and mind flayers because the rest of dwarvenkind abandoned Clan Duergar to thralldom and misery under illithid rule thousands of years ago. (At least, that's how the gray dwarves view the incident.) ) [x] [x] - Drow (Dark elf. Drow are elven, no matter who would like to deny this fact. The most notable feature of drow is their black skin, and pale (most usually white) hair. Drow on average are rarely more then five feet in height. Male drow weigh between 80 and 110 pounds, and females weigh between 95 and 120. They are typically elven in appearance, other then their color. They have long delicate fingers, pointed ears, and almond-shaped eyes.
Drow live underground, in caverns and such known as the Underdark. They have well-developed infravision, due to the lack of light, but they tend to be very intolerant of sunlight on the surface, or bright magical light. They do not fight well under such circumstances, and would rather avoid them.
The dark elves are something of masters at weaponry, seeing as how violent they are. Although much of it does not radiate magic, drow weaponry tends to have some unusual powers to it. Drow often wear cloaks and boots that help keep them hidden, often with magical effects. They often wear chain armor and carry weaponry made of a steel alloy containing adamantite. They also carry such things as snake-headed whips and small handheld crossbows, the bolts often poisoned.) [x] [x] - Elf (Elves are the Elder race. They are as old as the trees and the rivers they love so dearly. Ever since time has been recorded, the Elves have been there, singing and tending to the forest animals. Nowadays the Elves are few, their numbers slowly dwindling as the forests they live in are cut down. They do not begrudge this, though, but see it as a parseing of an age, the time of Humans. The Elves seen in cities are the very young, short on experience and high-spirited. They seem almost like children -- excitable and inquisitive, even though some of them may be older than entire Human families. Physically, Elves are quite tall, the same size as humans, but seem much taller due to their slimness. They are extremely magical creatures, and most are pacifistic -- unless there is some cause for action. In that case, they are savage fighters, both with spell and sword. They make great Mages, Warlocks and Gypsies, due to their cunning and grace. Elves can see equally well in dark or day.) [x] [x]
- Gnome (smaller than dwarfs and halflings.) [x]
- Halfling (Another term for Hobbit. Short person, half the height of a regular person.) [x]
- Changeling (The offspring of a fairy. Either very pale or have a greenish tint to their skin. And they have a vast vocabulary.) [x]
- Shifter Druid (A human being known to transform into any animal desired.) [x]
- Saurian Shifter (A human being known to transform into any dinosaur desired.) [x]
- Bugbear ( A type of hobgoblin known as the Bogeyman. A ghost-like creature.) [x]
- Goblin (a legendary evil or mischievous creature described evil as a grotesquely evil. Goblins can come in any colour but are mainly depicted as green or brown. They are attributed with various (sometimes conflicting) abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on the story and country of origin.) [x]
- Hobgoblin (Hobgoblins seem to be small, hairy little men who are often found within human dwellings, doing odd jobs around the house while the family is lost in sleep.) [x]
- Kobold (The kobold is a sprite of German folklore. Although usually invisible, a kobold can materialise in the form of an animal, fire, a human being, and a mundane object. The most common depictions of kobolds show them as humanlike figures the size of small children. Kobolds who live in human homes wear the clothing of peasants; those who live in mines are hunched and ugly; and kobolds who live on ships smoke pipes and wear sailor clothing.) [x]
- Lizardfolk (It is described as an aquatic monster with a rude intelligence, that is fond of eating human flesh.) [x]
- Orc (Orcs are often portrayed as misshapen humanoids who are brutal, warmongering, and sadistic. They are variously portrayed as physically stronger or weaker than humans, but always high in numbers. They often ride boars, wolves and wargs.) [x]
- Catfolk (Catfolk resemble a cross between a large predatory cat and a human, with a sleekly muscled humanoid body and the head and mane of a feline. Most male catfolk wear their thick hair in braids, while females keep theirs short and sleek.) [x]
- Kenku (Despite their birdlike appearance, kenkus lack wings, instead having human like arms, with talons in place of feet. Kenkus are covered in russet-brown feathers and have black beaks, but have a relatively humanoid build. Though more agile than humans, they tend to be physically weaker as well. They have small black beady eyes and are quite light for their size due to their hollow bones.) [x]
- Centaur (Truly, this creature is a mythological mystery. Two hearts, two sets of lungs, intestines, and other organs, and to boot, a spinal and muscular structure that I don't even want to begin to contemplate! This creature that has the head and upper torso of a man, and the lower torso and legs of a horse, is the mighty Centaur.
Origins:
Ixion, son of Ares, fell in love with Hera and commenced to try and "hold hands" with her. She told Zeus of Ixion's behavior towards her, and he made a cloud resembling her, and laid it beside Ixion. He went around, boasting as to how he had enjoyed Hera. Zeus then bound him to a wheel and he was whirled through the air by the winds. So, Centaurus was born from the cloud. When Centaurus consorted with the Magnesian Mares, the Centaurs were born. Other sources say that Centaurus was the son of Apollo and Stilbe, daughter of the water god Peneus and the naiad Creusa, or that Centaurs were born directly from the cloud.
Centaurs are usually depicted as drunken followers of Dionysus, except for Chiron, who was the son of the titan Cronos and the mortal Philyra. Cronos disguised himself as a horse to seduce Philyra so his wife, Rhea, wouldn't discover the affair.
Chiron had taught many heroes in his time, like Jason, Hercules, and Achilles, before he was accidentally killed by a poison-tipped arrow through the knee. Hercules had shot off the arrow while fighting off the other, more savage, centaurs that lived around Mt. Pelion. But because Chiron was immortal, he could not die, and according to one tale, the titan Prometheus took his immortality and Chiron was able to die. Also, according to another, he appealed to Zeus who lifted him up to become the constellation Sagittarius.
Another, more famous story envolving the centaurs, involves Pirithous, son of Ixion, and his bride-to-be, Hippodamia. It was their wedding day, and Pirithous invited the centaurs, because they were his kin. The centaurs, having drunken too much wine, tried to "hold hands" with Hippodamia. A battle broke out, and many of the centaurs perished. The surviving centaurs were then driven from Thessaly. -Kayla Dixon
There are many other types of centaurs relayed through mythology, here are a few you may have not heard of:
>>Ichthyocentaur (marine centaur) [x]
>>Pterocentaur (flying centaur) [x]
>>Onocentaur (half man, half donkey) [x]
>>Bucentaur (half man, half bull-very much like the Minotaur) [x]
>>Lamarseu (arseyrian winged bulls and lions with human heads) [x]
>>Hea-bani (arseyrian version of Chiron, except he was half bull. He was very wise and was also killed accidently) [x]
>>Kentaurides (female centaurs) [x]) [x] - Doppelganger (A humanoid being known to double itself.) [x]
- Satyr (Half-Goat, Half-Human person) [x]
- Pixie (They are usually depicted with pointed ears, and often wearing a green outfit and pointed hat. Sometimes their eyes are described as being pointed upwards at the temple ends.) [x]
- Werewolf= Three types
>>Alpha Werewolves
>>Beta Werewolves
>>Benandanti
Alpha Werewolves
An Alpha Werewolf is one who is transformed into a werewolf by the use of ointments, spells done on themselves, or is born one. The curse is then parseed on from generation to generation (occasionally skipping one). The hereditary form manifests itself during puberty. Some say that many humans who turn themselves into werewolves do it out of revenge for a lost loved one. They take on the curse to gain spiritual, magical, and athletic edge.
Beta Werewolves
Beta Werewolves are the humans who have been cursed by another, or contracted the disease by another type of werewolf. They have very little control over their transformations and are all affected by the moon. If a beta werewolf does not taste human blood then the curse is reversible, but very hard to do. If the beta aids in the killing of the alpha wolf that it contracted the curse from, then the curse will be broken. The other good thing in this act is that the alpha wolf cannot himself harm the beta wolf, he must get another to do this bidding.
Benandanti
The Benandanti is a man that leaves his body to arseume the shape of a wolf. This type of werewolf would be considered as more of a good rather than evil type of werewolf since after taking shape, the werewolves would descended to the underworld to battle witches. [x] - Vampire or a.k.a Homo Wampyrus=
Immortal Blood Drinkers is a rather large clarseification because not all receive the dark gift the same. There are roughly around thirty-six different recorded types well documented. I will be listing the four most common however which is also more then the rest all added together.
Common Species
[shadow=red,left,300]» Homo Wampyrus Chiroptera
» Homo Wampyrus Draco
» Homo Wampyrus Nosferatu
» Homo Wampyrus Sauria[/shadow]
Homo Wampyrus Chiroptera
These vampires are the rarest of the vampires because they are the "bat" vampires. They are largely found Africa, New Zealand and South America. Most of there population are concentrated in China and India.
These vampires appear to be very human other then a slightly pointy pair of ears and sometimes with a lantern jaw. They socially mix well with humans but hate to be around crowds. These are the most sensitive to sunlight, they experience blisters and pain after some time in the sun. They are the only vampires capable of the shape shifting feature and can even change into vampire bats. They are able to do this by certain factors such as racial origin, length of time as a vampire and even the right food.
Homo Wampyrus Draco
This is the most well known of the types. Made famous by Bram Stroker, they are more like Counts. They are well documented world wide. They are everywhere with the majority in places like North America, Britain and Western Europe.
They are extremely human in appearance except for their retractable canine teeth in their upper jaws that are hardly noticeable. They have medium to poor tolerance to sunlight and will perish in a couple of hours of direct sunlight. They are very social with humans and often take jobs as night watchmen and club bouncers.
They often gain there blood through willing donors who think that they are mortal blood drinkers. Some do pleasure in taking blood by force due to the fear factor and the release of adrenaline. It is these vicious vampires that have made movies like "The Lost Boys," "Blade 1 and Blade 2," and many others. They have also put into the heads of humans that it is "cool" to be a vampire.
Homo Wampyrus Nosferatu
They are often referred to as the "deformed" vampires. They were given their name after the 1922 movie "Nosferatu." They are less common then the Wampyrus Draco but are surprisingly numerous.
Their change into a vampire is not an easy one. The individuals' immune system has fought the virus and the virus is forced to mutate in order to survive. The end result is a twisted and disfigured vampire. Usually it is a high domed head that is bald with a visible network of livid veins; the face is long, thin, drawn, has deep creases; has sunken eyes; the ears are large and pointy or membranous; nose is upwards and revealing the nostrils; the hands have long tapered fingers often with an extra joint with sharp, discolored nails; stands with a hunch because to straighten their back causes extreme pain to their twisted spines and can cause a slipped disc or worse. All of these abnormalities are the reason why they are so anti-social with both humans and vampires a like.
They obtain blood through stealth from sleeping humans, small children or even from farm animals. They are everywhere with large concentrations in Africa, South Africa, The Caribbean and Japan. It has been speculated that the Puerto Rican Chupacabras, Goat Suckers, are excessively deformed Nosferatu vampires.
They are moderately sensitive to sunlight and can tolerate it for hours at a time on a dull day. They can perform certain shape changes but they vary from case to case.
Homo Wampyrus Sauria
They are often known as the "reptile" and/or "lizard" vampire. They get these names because they possess teeth that are all sharply pointed and resemble those of large lizards.
They are the most social of the four main types and are able to withstand extended periods of sunlight or indefinitely with the aid of sunglarsees and sunscreen. With the exception of their teeth they are very human in appearance. They tend to be very outgoing and are often business men who have amarseed a great deal of wealth through their long lifetime. However they are extremely susceptible to depression and most commonly the victims of suicide.
They are rare in Europe but are common in North America, Central America, South America and Australia with a great concentration in China, Japan and certain parts of the former USSR.
Due to their extreme social abilities, you might think that they are the most considerate feeders, wrong. They are the most brutal of all. They will often rip large pieces of flesh from the victim, usually from the thigh, upper arm or throat. They will devour the flesh and drink the blood from the gaping wound until the victim perishes. This rarely happens now. They take more often to buying blood or obtaining it from willing donors whom are cut with razors rather then teeth.) [x]
